GDPR
This privacy notice explains how The Sixth Form College, Colchester collects, uses and shares and processes your personal data, including special categories of personal data, and your rights in relation to the personal data we hold.
Use of Student Photographs
The college often uses photographs of students for information and marketing purposes. These are used online, for example on the college website and social media, and in print form, for example in the college prospectus and other publications. Photographs may also be submitted to various other organisations, including the local and national press and various partner organisations; on a legal basis, these usages are all considered by the college to be part of the college’s “legitimate interest.”
As part of college good practice in this area, students are made aware that:
- They will be asked permission, in each situation that photos are taken, for their photo to be used in such a fashion.
- They have the right to withdraw this permission, either at the point at which the photo is taken, or subsequently, via emailing GDPR@colchsfc.ac.uk
- The college will make all reasonable attempts to remove photographs if students subsequently withdraw their permission; however in some situations that are beyond the direct control of the college (paper publications already distributed, or images already published by the press) the College may not be able to do so.
