Exciting new building planned

We’re excited to say that we’re about to put in a bid for funding from the government’s national “Post-16 Capacity Fund” to help us build a new teaching block on the site. We already have planning permission in place for this building, which will give us another nine really useful classrooms; we’re also exploring options to make this building greener, more economical and faster to complete.
This project can only go ahead if our bid for funds is successful, but it would provide much‑needed extra space for our students and allow us to accommodate some of the increasing number of 16–17‑year‑olds in the Colchester area. We’re an A‑Level provider, and we are not planning any radical changes to our courses in the future, but this extra space would also put us in a better position to offer some of the government’s new “V Levels” when they become available. Of course, when we make such changes, we always work with Colchester Institute to ensure that what we offer fits within the broader needs of the city and its students.
As always, we are keen to remain inclusive and to offer an excellent range of courses for our students. This new building will really help us to do that.
