Arizona Field Trip
By Sue Court-Oak, Geography Department, 15 September 2015
Below is a stunning photograph from this year’s Geology field trip to Arizona. Students spent time walking on the rocky surface of Bonito Lava Flow, as well as visiting The Sunset Crater Volcano - one of the most colourful and pristine cinder volcanoes in the region .
They also travelled along the Crystal Forest Trail - Named for the presence of beautiful crystals that can be found in the petrified logs, as well as a trip into remote badlands country.
(“If you've ever pictured yourself stranded on an alien planet in a 60's sci-fi flick, this is where you'd actually take the picture.”)
