Performing Arts Students return to the Drama Studio

By Fiona Bush, Performing Arts Department, 12 July 2015

July for our Higher Education Performing Arts Conference, held in the Drama Studio. They shared their experiences since leaving Sixth Form with our current students from across all the disciplines in the Performing Arts Dept. These ex-students are studying as graduates or postgraduates or are working in the Performing Arts industry, as well as other industries. They discussed their experiences in order to support and guide our current students as they embark on their own applications for university or employment or internships. These experiences range from working as actors, dancers and musicians to running a company, working for Sony Music, as well as the study of  Law and Architecture. They explained  how and why their study of the Performing Arts was integral to their development as a student and as an  employable individual.  We are very fortunate that we have close links with many of our ex-students. This gives us a privileged insight into current working practices and the realities of “being employable” in any field in the current climate. thNearly twenty ex-students returned to college on Tues 7
