Duke of Edinburgh Gold Teams Qualify!
By Graham Rayner, Assistant Principal, 29 July 2016
The College's Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award teams romped home in style in Yorkshire as they completed their Gold Expedition. Having battled through the weather in the Peaks earlier in the year, conditions in Yorkshire were a little more settled with even some sun occasionally peeking through the hill fog. The three teams were praised by their external assessor who commented on the camaraderie
and excellent teamwork of the groups, as well as their map and compass work. No-one was lost (for very long, anyway) and a real sense of achievement was felt by everyone. Second year student Ellie Street said "I know I've achieved something that many people wouldn't make the effort to do. It wasn't easy at times but we all stuck together and it feels great to have finished."
