Spanish exchange to Mallorca
By David Huggon, Modern Foreign Languages Dept, 17 March 2016
19 students and 3 staff enjoyed a seven day Spanish language exchange trip to Palma de Mallorca in the Mediterranean. The students stayed in families, and during the week they had lessons with two native Spanish speakers from the language school. We also visited a local secondary school where our students went in to various lessons, including PE and dance, media, psychology and English. We visited the world famous caves of Drach in the East of the island where we were treated to a candle lit performance of classical music played by professional musicians floating on a candle-lit boat in an underground lake. One of the highlights of the trip was a bike ride along the shores of Mallorca basking in the balmy spring temperatures. This was our 27th consecutive language trip to Spain but our first to Mallorca. We’d certainly like to go back next year!
