Trampolining Success

By Jo Lawrence, Sports Dept., 7 December 2015

On Wednesday 25th November the girl’s trampolining team from the college went to Suffolk New College to compete in the Regional round of the Association of Colleges alongside fourteen other female competitors from SEEVIC, Chelmsford College and Suffolk New College. The girls performed really well in both the ‘set’ and ‘voluntary’ routines. All student had to perform the same ‘set’ routine and then they could apply their creativity and skill for the ‘voluntary’ routine and apply a tariff that reflected their own ability. All of the college competitors entered the elite competition which put more pressure on them to perform at a very high standard. And with only one opportunity to perform their routines, the pressure was on. However, the girls should be really proud as five of the six  girls were selected to represent the East Region for the Association of Colleges Final in Newcastle next April. I would like to thank the girls for their great performances and dedication to training.

Overall final results were as follows;

1st place – Kim Rayment
2nd place – Olivia Legg
4th place – Hannah Denson & Charis McKenzie
6th place – Hannah Pile
10th  place – Beth Lewis.
