The Guru Film ReviewAt last, Jimmy Mistry has made it into Bollywood! The Guru is an old age romantic comedy in which Jimmy Mistry plays an aspiring actor who gets mistaken for a guru, and ends up in a porn movie. The two other leading roles in the film, Marisa Tomei, and Heather Graham both help Jimmy Mistry’s character to become famous as The Guru. In This film Heather Graham plays an extremely attractive porn star, but this is complemented well by her characters sweet, naïve personality giving the film a rounded mix of characters. The comedy is fairly basic in some places, but the humour works on all sorts of levels so will make anyone chuckle. Some of the points made in the film are a bit stereotypical but the whole from is completely light-hearted so it doesn’t matter one little bit. The film is the standard hour and a half with all the bollywood dance numbers, Grease, porn, comedy, philosophy, and the general fun and excitement but the hour and a half seems more like twenty minutes. This extraordinary film is now thought of as being one of the best films of this year! The guru is more than just a normal comedy, it makes feel for the characters as well. This in fact leads to a well rounded, light-hearted film that is well worth the cost of year cinema ticked. Written by Andrew Couling |
