Which is best: Myspace, Bebo or Facebook? Most people seem to write reviews on music, so I think I’m going break the habit a bit and go for the next thing I can think of =] I’m guessing if you are reading this you have some sort of profile or blog somewhere. It all starts with the silly things like Habbo Hotel, the online place for the Sims and online chat fans. It’s mostly pervy 14 year olds who suddenly become the Habbo Hotel equivalent to the mafia, but we’ve all matured since then. Now its things like: Myspace, Bebo, HI5, Facebook, Face party and Flixter, but which is best?! Out of the 3 I have, I have decided which is hot, and which is not. Myspace was the first of the profiles I created, and I found it quite difficult to get my head round. After a while I got into the swing of it all, and I began to add colours and backgrounds to my profile. I spoke to new people, people I already new, or people I knew of, but never really spoke to because I was never too good with confrontation, however, I also got adds from weirdo’s half way across the globe constantly emailing me in bad English asking how I was today. After almost 3 years of Myspace the novelty is some what wearing off and I’m starting to get sick of people reinventing themselves so when other people see their Myspace profile they see them as a totally different person to what they actually are. People see Myspace as a ‘scene’ thing to have now and more and more people are becoming ‘scene kids’ by having ‘depressed’ as their mood or having a dodgy taken picture covered in clipart saying they are so emo. This is probably Myspace’s downfall. Bebo was the next profile I set up after getting a million emails from people who already had it asking me to join. It wasn’t as complicated as Myspace when I first got on there, but it wasn’t as interesting and I soon got bored. I only really started going on there when people who didn’t have Myspace got Bebo. Its okay I suppose. There are Crappy skins, but much more variety of what you can have in terms of videos, pictures and games on there, however this can easily been done on Myspace using those HTML codes. Bebo’s nearly there, but not quite. Finally there’s Facebook, the newest addition to my profile collection. It was THE most complicated of them all, and I found it a mission to start and get my head around things. It’s much easier than Myspace at searching people, and you don’t get any of those self confessed emo’s or diehard chavs adding you just for the friends count but you cant see their profile until you add them, which I guess is securing the idea of only adding friends. All in all, I think for now Facebook is my least favourite. It’s dull, and to be honest has no appeal what-so-ever to me at all.
