Inclusive Learning

Introduction

The College will provide an inclusive learning environment, in which the quality of the student experience is improved by making the curriculum process relevant to the individual student. Each student will build their own learning programmes around essential skills using subject options which are both relevant and necessary.

Policy Guidelines

1. The individual application process is central to Inclusive Learning.
2. Each student will be given an individual application interview to determine their learning needs and requirements.
3. Each student will be provided with opportunities to investigate teaching provision within curriculum areas, to discuss teaching and learning styles and to plan their individual programme before joining the College.
4. Each student will be given an individual enrolment interview to determine their learning needs and requirements and to agree individual learning goals.
5. Each student will be given regular assessments with opportunities for individual target setting and review.
6. Resources will be provided within the College to enable all students to derive maximum benefit from their time in College.
7. All students will be offered opportunities for individual guidance and support throughout their studies.
8. All students will be offered assistance in identifying progression routes and making successful progression from the College. Each student will be given an individual application interview to determine their learning needs and requirements.
