Fifteen Hundred Students Attended The Annual Careers Convention
By Adrian Frost (Assistant Principal)
27 March 2009

Last week over fifteen hundred students attended the annual careers convention at Colchester Sixth Form College.

The event was a great success, as Head of Careers Anne Johnson explained: “ We had over fifty organisations attend, including everyone from local solicitors to The University of Aberystwyth – so they genuinely came from far and wide. Other exhibitors included the armed forces, a range of employers, Universities and local training providers. This event is nearly ten years old and gets bigger by the year - It was very pleasing to see so many students attend.

The college sports hall is big, but there was still a very busy feel to the event all morning. I’d like to thank everyone who worked so hard to make this event a success”

College Principal Ian MacNaughton said: “Events such as these are always important, but especially so in such a difficult economic climate. It’s pleasing to hear from many of our visitors that the students have approached this event in such an active and well-informed fashion. It’s a credit to the work that Anne and her team do with the students.”
