Chess for Cash

Recently Sixth Form College students flexed their strategic muscles as part of the "Chess for Cash" event.
Teacher Will Pierce displayed considerable confidence in their skills when he explained that: "Students from the official college chess club risked their pride and my cash in matches against any student who was willing to take up the challenge. Challenges put £2 on the table and if they lost then that money was gone, if they won they received £5 back. Thankfully , all in all the guys from my official chess club ended up winning more than they lost and, more importantly, it was a fantastic opportunity for people who were not aware of the 'chess culture' in college to find out more".
