College Association and Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

A partnership of parents, staff, and students which raises funds to enhance facilities for students of the College through a variety of events.

Our Aims

The aims of the College Association and Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is to support the work of the College through social, educational and fund raising activities and bring about closer contact between Parents, students, staff, governors and evening users of the College.

We are delighted to announce that a wide range of students have benefited from the efforts of everyone involved with the Association.

This year the major contributions have been:

  • Contributions for students whose resources are limited to attend HE or employment interviews. A number of students received travel subsidies.
  • Provision of computers for student use in the open access computer room in the new midsite building.

Previous contributions include:

  • New College Minibus. In May 2001 a replacement Minibus was purchased, the College Association raised 35% of the funds for this purchase.
  • IT Facilities. The College Association made a major contribution to the provision of a number of laptop computers for student use in the main College Library.
  • Radio Station. Storm Radio’s origin was part funded by the College Association. The Association has continued to contribute towards upgrading and expanding the station to keep abreast of developments in radio. In addition to all students benefiting from the radio broadcasts many students have found their involvement in the radio station beneficial in gaining HE places and employment.
